COMMUNITY GROUPS

There’s nothing like getting together with a group of friends on a regular basis to talk, play games, snack, study the Word, pray, and live life together. We offer a variety of groups on a variety of nights to provide opportunities for you to build relationships with others who are on this journey of following Jesus.

If you would like more information about connecting with others through community groups, contact Jeff White, Small Groups and Men's Minister, at 624.6915 x340 or jwhite@chjoplin.org.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

We have classes for all ages each Sunday morning. Some are as small as 10 while others are over 100.  Bible School looks at the whole chapter in the Bible we are studying while the sermon focuses more on a single application to our lives.  Why not take in both each week? Explore our Sunday morning Bible school classes here. We also have programming for all ages on Wednesday nights. Find information about our Wednesday Night classes here.

For more information about Christian Education, contact Rick Bushnell, Education Minister, at 624.6915 x320 or rbushnell@chjoplin.org.

FAMILIES

A healthy family nurtures their marriage, seeks deep friendships, leans hard on a loving God, and leads their children to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. We seek to help families lay these building blocks. Our main strategy to accomplish this is by families helping other families. The unexpected will come, but healthy families have a better chance at maneuvering life's hard turns.

Find out more about our ministry to families here.

For more information, contact Titus Neuenschwander, Family Minister, at 624.6915 x180 or titus@chjoplin.org

KNIGHTS OF THE 21ST CENTURY

The Knights of the 21st Century is a Men’s Ministry Study Series. These programs were developed to help men grow in Christ, learn to lead their families and contribute to their communities more effectively, and by doing this, change our culture through the local church. The tools provided enable men to see God’s purpose behind their design, develop their God-given talents, and appreciate the presence of Christ in every area of their lives. For more information contact Dave Conrad at 417.592.7825 or Pat Boyer at 417.483.9560.

The Women’s Ministry desires to make disciples of Jesus who change the world. We focus on helping women grow deeper in their love of Jesus, increase their knowledge of the Bible, and connect with one another in community. Opportunities throughout the year include Bible studies, conferences, prayer retreats, and more. The Women’s Ministry is open to all women of any age and stage of life. If you have any questions about the women's ministry, please contact Carol Bowland, Women's Ministry Coordinator, cbowland@chjoplin.org.

The whole world wants to connect via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat.  The world also wants instant gratification and quick results. But as Christian women, we know there is more.  More of a connection that lasts.  This year we will strive to encourage each other to CONNECT with Him and CONNECT with each other in a deeper wayCONNECT...with a purpose on purpose.

MARRIAGE MENTORING

This is not a program, it’s a working relationship. It’s the process of having a seasoned and experienced couple (nobody said anything about being “perfect”) come alongside a less experienced couple to help show them the way. We are always recruiting seasoned couples to be mentors, and matching couples with mentors.

MARRIAGE RETREATS

These weekends are for those who want to get the most out of their life together. All marriages can be refreshed with joy, connection, and communication. This is one of those moments. Join us for two nights and receive a balanced combination of training, laughter, and relaxing free time to enhance your marriage.

JUST FOR PARENTS

This is a new event being planned for fall 2014. The purpose is to serve, connect, and empower parents to be the primary spiritual leaders in their homes. We have a wealth of knowledge among our families and community and are making many of them available to you in one location.

LIFE GROUPS

Life Groups are communities which meet outside the walls of the church in the places where you do everyday life. At College Heights Christian Church we think that everything boils down to doing life together. That is why we have life groups. A life group is primarily a place where people connect with one another, develop genuine friendships, explore the Scriptures, pray for one another, share concerns, and have fun together.

FAMILY CAMP

This fall get-a-way is designed for family fun, being a memory-maker, enjoying some rest, and making new friendships. This get-a-way takes place as Maranatha retreat center with hotel-like facilities and access to many of the camp’s adventure elements like zip lining, archery, basketball, bonfires, and much, much more.

SENIOR ADULT ACTIVITIES

College Heights Senior Adults provide support to Crosslines Ministry by helping with the food pantry and sorting clothes for the poor.

Just to see the smile on peoples’ faces when they hear that friendly knock on the door and see our Meals on Wheels volunteers with a hot and nutritious lunch, is worth it all.

Through the “Cheerleaders,” we visit people in homes, hospitals, and health care centers who are restricted in their activities due to health or other problems.
