Elijah- Just Like Us | 1 Kings 17:1–6; 18:1–15 | 05.26.19 | Sy Huffer

Pray: Pray the prayer this week everyday at dinner that Sy taught you all to pray in his sermon: "Father, help me face THAT power today, not by MY power, but by YOUR power." Speak: Is there someone in a position of power that God is calling you to face today? Is there something in your life that has power over you that God is calling you to face? What is keeping you from speaking about these powers with others? with God? speaking to them directly? Grow: Set a date three months from now, six months from now, or one year from now. Commit to overcoming the powers in your life that are keeping you down by that date. Love: When we confront power, the result is that enemies are created in positions of power (Jezebel and Ahab) but God also gives us comrades in positions of power (Obadiah). How do both of these groups in power cause you to Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and to love your neighbor as yourself? How do you love those in power who become your enemies? How do you, like Elijah, care for those in power who become your comrades?
