Christians have responded to Muslims in many ways, but all too often, without the compassion that characterized Jesus. Bridges seeks to replace fear and intimidation with love and gentle boldness, reshaping the way Christians view and respond to their Muslim neighbors.
Bridges is one-of-a-kind because it focuses on similarities, not differences. Christianity and Islam are not the same, but they are similar. You can learn how to take similar concepts in Christianity and Islam, and build a bridge. Find out more about Bridges here.
You can serve the world better by becoming more informed. This 15-week course is an in-depth look at how the Scriptures describe our purpose, especially as it relates to Global Outreach. Find out more about Perspectives here.
The 938 Mentoring Group (based on Matthew 9:38)
The purpose of 938 is for College Heights to identify potential Global Partners from within our own congregation, to encourage their development and preparation for cross-cultural service, and to give specific guidance as they begin to move in that direction. We also desire to partner in the development of others within our congregation that may not be sent out by College Heights, but are planning to serve as global workers. The purpose of PACT (Preparing Apprentices through Community and Training) is to provide a 9-month intensive internship for people interested in serving on the field full-time. PACT currently runs January 1 – September 30. This group spends a lot of time in community, in study, in community outreach, telling Jesus stories, sharing their faith, etc. They take part in three retreats as well as a two-week cross-cultural trip.
