Kingdom Citizen: Follow Jesus (Philippians)
Use these questions to further explore the theme of the message.
Pray: This week, lay your heart and soul bare before the Lord, allowing the Spirit to reveal to you wounds and secrets buried behind your fig leaves. Ask the Lord like the Psalmist to “search your heart,” gently revealing to you the dark corners where God’s light desires to shine brightest. Sit in silence, like a tree, baring all before the Lord, and when He speaks, write down what you hear.
Speak: Paul spoke the powerful words, “Imitate me as I imitate Christ” (1 Cor. 11:1). Honestly ask yourself the question, “Can I speak the same words to my neighbor?” If not, why? What areas would you need to change to be able to say such words? What’s holding you back?
Grow: Cancer grows when left unaddressed, when left untreated. What areas of your life need to be laid bare in order for healing to take place? What secrets lurk in the shadows of your everyday life? This week take just one secret from its hiding place and lay it bare before a trusted friend.
Love: In order to love others and evangelize them, we need to learn how to love ourselves. When you look in the mirror, what do you see? List the good and the bad, and then go through each and ask, “Why?” Find a friend. Share your list, and ask them what they see (i.e., agree or disagree).
