This is an exciting time for College Heights! Our gracious leaders recognize the value of Early Childhood ministry and have displayed their commitment by creating a minister role specifically for this age group. A solid foundation exists in Baby City, Toddler Town and Kid Cadets, and now is the time to unify these areas and pour even more energy into our children and families. And so we are excited to introduce our new Early Childhood Minister, Ann Wolfe. Take a few minutes to get to know her:
This is Me
I find it a great honor to continue in the service of women like Dian Jordan and Julie St. Clair, who have cared so well for our little ones. And, I’m excited to include Kid Cadets into our ministry and look forward to providing support and vision for all of Early Childhood! A little about me and my family:
My husband is Jeremey, a social worker/counselor and full-time professor at MSSU. We have three children: Lydia, Elijah and Jude. Our family has been members of College Heights for almost thirteen years. We’re involved at Stained Glass Theatre Joplin and each member of our family contributes, either through acting, tech, or behind-the-scenes activities. We like to canoe and we love spending family time playing games or cheering on our favorites in Food Network competitions. Lydia has served as a Sunday School teacher in LaunchPad and starts college at Johnson University in Tennessee in August. Elijah is a sophomore in high school and has served in Toddler Town for three years. Jude is a 7th grader and a new volunteer in Kid Cadets. Our entire family loves serving children! Jeremey is a huge support to me in ministry and faithfully serves every week. He’s already been in Baby City the past couple of weeks, learning the ropes in that particular area as we move into a new season of service, although he’ll likely move between the three areas of ministry when we get settled.
I’m about halfway through my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood and Family Development from Missouri State University. Technically, “early childhood” can include birth through eight, so my degree has been applicable during my time in LaunchPad, as well. I’ve been a volunteer in children’s ministry for over twenty years, and have served on staff here at College Heights for four years as the Associate Children’s Minister for Elementary. That position is being changed to a part-time Ministry Coordinator for Elementary, and Brian is currently accepting applications.
In my opinion, Jesus + Kids = the greatest combination on the planet! I take seriously the charge to help children and families know God’s love, God’s Word, God’s people and God’s plan. My goal for our Early Childhood Team is to serve the Lord and the Littles with gladness! Your little ones are dear to us, and you are, too. Please let me know how we can best serve and support you as you raise your children for God’s glory.
Where to Find Me, Contact Information and What’s Next
During the workweek, my office will continue to be in the Youth Team area near the Chapel. It’s the bright orange and yellow room. Staying in proximity to the rest of the Youth Team will help with cohesiveness in ministry and allow your voice for Early Childhood to be heard more easily. I will physically be present wherever most needed on a Sunday morning, be that in Baby City, Toddler Town, or Kid Cadets. Even though I have several areas to serve, please know I want to be available to you. Email or call...I’m here for you. My email is email@example.com and my number at the church is (417) 624-6915 x130.
Over the next several months, I’ll be acclimating to my new role and I’ll be listening to your ideas and your goals for this ministry. I have ideas and goals, as well, and am looking forward to sharing those with you over time. I will send you emails periodically, so make sure I’m not in your spam folder. I don’t want you to miss out on what’s to come. Be ready for exciting new opportunities in Early Childhood! And, thank you for your grace and patience as I adjust to a new role here at College Heights.
You are an important part of what God is doing at College Heights! As Christ’s body, we are to serve one another and encourage each other in our faith. The Early Childhood Ministry at CHCC is not my ministry; it's your ministry and I want to partner with you in taking good care of one another. I’m looking forward to supporting you and helping to create opportunities for you to connect to your fellow believers. I desire to work with you and celebrate your gifts, skills, and interests as you seek to honor God and bless His people. The families and volunteers that make up our Early Childhood Ministry are being given new opportunities to grow deeper and stronger together. It’s exciting and it's all for God’s glory! He has gone before us, behind us, and is beside us as we seek to honor Him in everything. Serving the Lord with gladness...together!
